I went back down, used the officer and poltergeist to get over the red patch. I went for a drink during the scene when I came back I wasn't sure what I needed to do (as my current objective still says exit the attic) I saw the cat which ran off, so I assumed I was to exit the church.

I'm at the church where the priest has died protecting Iris. No big deal been playing through it, untill now. Anyway my current objective always says 'exit the attic' since I can remember. Just started playing this game for the first time the other day.
